Thank you for your interest in adopting your next family member from the Langley Animal Protection Society (LAPS). LAPS adopts approximately 500 animals each year into loving homes. Our commitment to the animals and to our adopters is to ensure that we find the best match for both you and the animals in our care. Just as you have your own unique expectations, needs, and lifestyle so do our shelter animals who are waiting for their forever family. The steps we take in our adoption process are necessary to ensure that the animals adopted from our shelter are placed into their forever home where the relationship is mutually fulfilling.
The following steps are needed to create your account on our adoption portal:

Step 1:
To begin your application, please register as a new user. You will be asked to create your own User ID.
Step 2:
Once you have registered, an email will be sent to the email address you listed on your profile. Please verify your account by clicking the link within the email.
Step 3:
Once you have registered and verified your account, you are ready to begin an application. Please click the Adoption Application tab in the top right-hand corner of the screen to start a new application.
Step 4:
After you select the animal you are interested in adopting you will go through a process of different status's which could include: Received, Processed, Matched (
), Approved, Declined, Withdrawn or Incomplete. Click HERE to see what each status means.
We are very grateful for your interest in adopting from LAPS. Please know that sometimes we receive multiple applications for one animal. If you are not selected, please do not be discouraged! You are valued and most likely an amazing home - another applicant may have simply been a better match for the animals needs.
